A bit about us:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Heavy Civil Estimator to join our team. This is a permanent position that offers a unique opportunity to play a critical role in the growth and expansion of our company. The Heavy Civil Estimator will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects, including earthwork, concrete structures, and flatwork. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent analytical abilities, and a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for projects or services.
- Prepare detailed, accurate and competitive estimates for heavy civil construction projects including earthwork, concrete structures, and flatwork.
- Conduct thorough risk and opportunity analyses for each estimate.
- Review and evaluate cost estimates to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with defined scope of work.
- Participate in the preparation and presentation of estimate/proposal documents, including specific strategies, cost breakdowns, and value engineering options.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and field staff to ensure estimates accurately reflect the project's scope and conditions.
- Utilize software for data compilation, analysis, and generation of estimates.
- Participate in project bidding, negotiations, and handover processes.
- Provide recommendations for cost analysis, budgeting, and project scheduling.
- Continuously improve the estimating process and procedures by implementing new and innovative estimating techniques.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction estimating.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven ability to read and understand civil blueprints, plans, and specifications.
- Proficient in construction estimating software and tools.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with project bidding, value engineering, cost analysis, and budgeting.
- Advanced knowledge of safety and legal regulations related to heavy civil construction.
- Professional certification in estimating or a related field will be an added advantage.
