The equipment includes but is not limited to Grader, Dozer, Scraper, Water Wagon, Compactor, Excavator, Skid Steer, and Front End Loader. Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life.
- Perform daily safety and maintenance checks and clean heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required.
- Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored.
- Participate in routine maintenance practices and preventative maintenance programs.
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, graders, compactors, water wagons, and front-end loaders to excavate, move, load and grade earth, rock, gravel or other materials during construction and related activities.
- Work in adherence to safe practices, procedures, work site or traffic laws.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in earthmoving, construction and related activities.
- Communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and the general public about operational and safety matters.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience operating heavy equipment in a construction environment.
- Proven experience with heavy equipment operation including Grader, Dozer, Scraper, Water Wagon, Compactor, Excavator, Skid Steer, and Front End Loader.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Strong understanding of how operated equipment works for troubleshooting purposes.
- Knowledge of safe operation of heavy equipment as well as safety standards in the industry.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and on difficult terrains.
- Strong physical condition to perform the demands of the job, including lifting heavy objects, climbing, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination, depth perception, and a keen sense of balance.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
