Job Details:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Permanent Histology Tech to join a team in Colorado Springs. This role involves working in a state-of-the-art histology lab, where you will be instrumental in helping to deliver high-quality diagnostic services. You will be responsible for preparing and processing tissue specimens for microscopic examination and diagnosis by Pathologists.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-430pm

Responsibilities:

1. Accurately process and prepare tissue and body fluid specimens for routine and special histologic procedures and pathologist review.
2. Perform complex histological procedures, record and analyze data, maintain and troubleshoot equipment, and assist in the development of new techniques and procedures.
3. Assist in maintaining the laboratory's accreditation by following established guidelines and protocols.
4. Ensure a clean and safe work environment in compliance with applicable procedures and regulations.
5. Assist with the training and orientation of new staff and students.
6. Communicate effectively with pathologists, laboratory staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications:

1. A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Histology Tech is preferred; WILL CONSIDER NEW GRADS!
2. Certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) as a Histotechnologist (HTL) or equivalent.
3. Proficient in histological techniques, including tissue fixation, processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining.
4. Strong knowledge of laboratory safety and infection control procedures.
5. Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
6. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex medical information.
7. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
8. Proficient in using laboratory information systems and office software.
9. A Bachelor's degree in Histology, Biology, or a related field is preferred.
10. Commitment to maintaining high professional standards, including confidentiality and ethical conduct.
