You will be working in a highly supportive environment that values your skills and dedication to patient care. If you have a passion for hospice nursing and a desire to make a significant difference in the lives of patients and their families, this is the perfect role for you.

Responsibilities

In this critical role, you will provide direct nursing care to terminally ill patients in our inpatient hospice unit. Your responsibilities will include:

1. Developing and implementing individualized care plans for each patient, with a focus on managing symptoms and maintaining comfort.
2. Providing emotional support to patients and their families, helping them to cope with the realities of terminal illness.
3. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including doctors, social workers, and therapists, to ensure holistic care.
4. Educating patients and families on end-of-life care, including pain management and symptom control.
5. Regularly evaluating patient status and updating care plans as necessary.
6. Ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to hospice care.
7. Participating in regular staff meetings and continuing education opportunities to stay up-to-date on best practices in hospice care.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of end-of-life care and a passion for providing compassionate, patient-centered care. Required qualifications include:

1. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
2. Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 years in a hospice or palliative care setting.
3. Exceptional clinical skills, with a focus on pain management and symptom control.
4. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide emotional support to patients and families in a sensitive and empathetic manner.
5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
6. Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
7. Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to hospice care.
8. Must have experience dealing with death and the ability to handle it in a professional and compassionate manner.

This is a challenging, yet rewarding role that requires a special kind of person – one who can offer comfort, support, and exceptional care to those at the end of life. If you believe you have the skills, experience, and passion required, we would love to hear from you.
