We are a leading company in the manufacturing industry, seeking a passionate and experienced Human Resources (HR) Generalist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR practices and employee management relations. As an HR Generalist, you will play a key role in developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy. You will also be responsible for maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. This is a permanent position that requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in the HR field.
Responsibilities:
1. Administer various HR plans and procedures for all company personnel; assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
2. Perform benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, and communicating benefit information to employees.
3. Develop and maintain affirmative action programs; maintain other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
4. Conduct recruitment efforts for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, conduct new-employee orientations; monitor career-pathing program and write and place advertisements.
5. Handle employee relations counseling and exit interviewing.
6. Participate in administrative staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars.
7. Maintain company organization charts and the employee directory.
8. Assist in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals.
9. Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to continually improve the efficiency of the department and services performed.
10. Ensure regulatory compliance with OSHA, SHRM, ADP, and Union requirements.
Qualifications:
1. A bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of human resource experience is preferred.
2. Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred.
3. Experience with HRIS and benefits administration.
4. Extensive knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including OSHA and EEO.
5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
6. Strong understanding of HR policies and procedures.
7. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
8. Experience in a union environment is a plus.
9. Knowledge of compensation and benefit strategies.
10. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
11. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
12. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
