We're an established, growing food manufacturer with a production plant in Northern Illinois and a team that takes real pride in what we make. Our workforce is multicultural and largely Spanish speaking, and we run around the clock across three shifts. We're a company where leaders know people by name, HR has a direct line to the executive team, and one person can shape the culture of the whole plant. We're looking for an HR leader who wants to own the function, be visible on the floor, and help us build a workplace people want to stay at.

A well established, growing food manufacturer in Northern Illinois is looking for a hands on HR Manager to lead the full HR function for a multi shift production plant. This is the senior HR seat for the site, partnering directly with plant and executive leadership, with a small HR team reporting in.
What you'll own
Full cycle HR for a multi shift hourly workforce: recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, investigations, and retention
Hourly payroll, benefits administration, open enrollment, leave, and 401(k)
Workers' compensation claims, return to work, and OSHA recordkeeping
Compliance with federal and Illinois employment law, I-9 and E-Verify, and audit ready training and personnel records
Training programs, the employee handbook, performance management, and supervisor coaching
A monthly HR scorecard covering turnover, time to fill, retention, and safety metrics
What we're looking for
7+ years of progressive HR experience, including 3+ years as the senior HR leader for a site of 150+ employees
Manufacturing or food processing experience, ideally in a multi shift environment
Hands on payroll and HRIS experience
Experience with workplace investigations and partnering with outside employment counsel
Bilingual English and Spanish strongly preferred
SHRM or HRCI certification preferred
Comfortable spending real time on the production floor
