Job Details
For the HR Specialist, the responsibilities anticipated will be (15-20 hours/week):
Recruitment & Onboarding
Employee Relations & Compliance
Payroll & Benefits Administration
HR Operations & Recordkeeping
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Coordinate job postings, candidate screening, and interview scheduling.
- Support hiring managers in the recruitment process.
- Prepare offer letters and onboarding materials.
- Conduct new employee orientations and ensure smooth onboarding.
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Serve as a first point of contact for HR-related questions.
- Support employee engagement initiatives and maintain positive workplace relations.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (FMLA, FLSA, OSHA, etc.).
- Assist in developing and updating HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks.
Payroll & Benefits Administration
- Partner with finance to support biweekly payroll processing, ensuring accuracy of timekeeping and wage records.
- Administer employee benefits, including health insurance, 401(k), and leave programs.
- Serve as liaison with benefit providers and address employee questions.
HR Operations & Recordkeeping
- Maintain HRIS or personnel files with accurate, confidential employee data.
- Track employee attendance, leave balances, and performance review timelines.
- Assist in reporting HR metrics (turnover, headcount, compliance reports).
- Support training and development initiatives.
