A bit about us:

A prestigious publicly traded company is looking for a Controller for their America Hydrogen division. The Controller will be accountable for all financial reporting for the Americas low Carbon Intensity (CI) hydrogen business including operational analysis and cash flow analysis for Hydrogen for Mobility (H2fM) and downstream efforts to enable this growth platform. They will help facilitate business growth by developing new or improving existing tools and processes to fit the low CI hydrogen business model.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to work in an undefined dynamic environment. They should have the ability to think through and find opportunities for improvement that align with the business strategy and goals, be a partner with the business and take an ad-hoc request and make it standardized and repeatable as the business evolves. In addition, the candidate should be able to work independently to meet the goals of the business.

The ideal candidate is someone who is at an Accounting Manager or Assistant Controller level who can grow into a Controller for a large, publicly traded company. This position oversees all of the Canada operations for this organization and requires someone who has similar experience. The Assistant Controller is a strategic partner in Finance for the business and also has a seat at the table amongst senior leadership.

Job Details

This role will have frequent interaction with Regional Business leaders, CFO, and other Senior executives.

Key responsibilities include the following:
  • Directing and developing analysis to support the Americas H2fM business management
  • Direct and guide project cash flow analysis of new business opportunities including downstream activities
  • Support business strategy as the low CI hydrogen business grows
  • Develop tools and analysis that drive simplification
  • Actively look for and identify areas of opportunity
  • Ability to influence decision making
  • Provide support for various Ad Hoc requests and analysis

Qualifications:
  • 5 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; MBA preferred
  • Effective interpersonal, leadership, communication, and influencing skills
  • Ability and passion to self-educate by engaging across multiple functions
  • Some travel required
