Job Details
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the preparation, review, and filing of federal and state income tax returns, coordinating with external stakeholders, and implementing process improvements where applicable.
Oversee the preparation, review, and management of quarterly and annual ASC 740 income tax provisions, working closely with external auditors and responding to auditor inquiries.
Review internal financial statements and GAAP memos to ensure proper reporting and compliance with tax regulations.
Ensure tax compliance with all federal, state, and local jurisdictions.
Maintain comprehensive tax compliance records in line with document retention policies.
Conduct tax research and contribute to special projects as required.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual returns for excise/motor fuel taxes, use tax, property taxes, and other miscellaneous filings, ensuring accuracy in reconciliations.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field (or equivalent experience) required.
CPA Certification required.
Minimum 2 years of experience in oil and gas tax.
At least 5 years of tax accounting experience in federal and/or state tax, gained from a public firm or corporate tax department.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must.
