We are seeking a driven and experienced Permanent Industrial Electrician to join our dynamic team in the Engineering industry. The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving the functionality of various types of machinery in an industrial setting. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical systems, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work well under pressure. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects in the food industry, utilizing their expertise in machinery, instrumentation, and electrical code.
Responsibilities:
1. Install, maintain, and repair electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems.
2. Read technical diagrams and blueprints.
3. Perform general electrical maintenance.
4. Inspect transformers and circuit breakers and other electrical components.
5. Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing devices.
6. Repair and replace equipment, electrical wiring, or fixtures.
7. Follow National Electrical Code state and local building regulations.
8. Circuit breaker corrective maintenance.
9. Good knowledge of heating and air conditioning systems.
10. Good knowledge of various test equipment.
Qualifications:
1. Proven experience as an Electrician.
2. Experience in the food industry will be an added advantage.
3. Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g., wire strippers, voltmeter etc.) and electrical drawings and blueprints.
4. Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines.
5. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
6. Excellent physical condition and flexibility to work long shifts and overnight.
7. Diploma in relevant vocational training or successfully completed apprenticeship as an electrician.
8. Valid license to practice the profession.
9. Journeyman certification.
10. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
