We are seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney-Med Mal (Hybrid) to join our prestigious legal team. This dynamic role will primarily focus on medical malpractice cases, general liability, and insurance litigation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling a diverse portfolio of insurance defense matters, including product liability, med mal litigation, and insurance carriers. We are seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney-Med Mal (Hybrid) to join our prestigious legal team. This dynamic role will primarily focus on medical malpractice cases, general liability, and insurance litigation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling a diverse portfolio of insurance defense matters, including product liability, med mal litigation, and insurance carriers. This is a permanent position that offers a unique opportunity to work with a team of highly skilled attorneys and legal professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of complex insurance and medical malpractice defense files according to the firm's guidelines.
- Conduct legal research, perform case evaluations, and provide legal consultations.
- Represent the interests of insurance carriers and their policyholders in med mal and general liability litigation.
- Prepare and draft legal documents, pleadings, motions, briefs, and opinions.
- Negotiate settlements for legal disputes and med mal litigation.
- Conduct pre-trial discovery, pick juries, and take and defend depositions.
- Comply with all legal standards and regulations, particularly in relation to insurance carriers.
- Collaborate with team members and clients to ensure a coordinated and effective defense strategy.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and recent court decisions that may impact the firm's clients.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
- Must have a minimum of 1+ years of experience in insurance defense litigation, with a focus on ideally medical malpractice defense (med mal) or general liability, products liability or employment
- Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
- Proven experience representing insurance carriers and handling product liability cases.
- Excellent negotiation, research, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage high volumes of work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
- Proficient in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience in med mal litigation and products liability is a must.
- High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
