Job Details
Responsibilities
1. Handling a caseload involving insurance defense, general liability, auto/transportation liability, or construction (defect) matters.
2. Engaging in legal research, drafting legal documents, pleadings, motions, briefs and opinions, managing discovery, and appearing in court.
3. Taking and defending depositions of parties and experts.
4. Representing the interests of the insurer and the insured in defending claims of personal injury, property damage, or wrongful death.
5. Providing legal representation to clients before courts, arbitration panels, or administrative bodies.
6. Advising clients on business and legal transactions, claim liability, advisability of defending lawsuits, or legal rights and obligations.
Qualifications
1. Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the State Bar and in good standing.
3. A minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance defense litigation, preferably within the construction industry.
4. Proven experience in legal research, drafting legal documents, taking and defending depositions, and courtroom experience.
5. Strong knowledge of product liability and construction law.
6. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
7. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and cases.
