Job Details

Responsibilities

As a Permanent Insurance Defense Attorney, your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

1. Managing a heavy caseload of insurance defense cases from inception through to resolution.
2. Drafting, reviewing, and arguing motions and other court filings.
3. Representing clients in court and advocating on their behalf in trials.
4. Conducting and managing discovery, including taking and defending depositions.
5. Interacting with clients, claims professionals, and opposing counsel to ensure the smooth progression of cases.
6. Negotiating settlements on behalf of clients where appropriate.
7. Keeping clients informed of progress and advising on legal matters.
8. Staying updated with changes in insurance law and adapting strategies accordingly.
9. Participating in firm marketing and business development efforts.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

1. A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
3. A minimum of 5+ years of experience in insurance defense, specifically with a focus on motions, trials, and managing a heavy caseload.
4. Exceptional oral advocacy skills and written communication abilities.
5. The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Proficiency in legal research software and other relevant technologies.
8. Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
9. A commitment to maintaining the highest level of professional ethics and integrity.
