Job Details

Key Responsibilities:
1. Client Consultation:
  • Meet with clients to discuss legal issues and provide advice.
  • Evaluate the merits of a case and advise clients on the potential legal options.

2. Legal Research and Investigation:
  • Conduct legal research to gather relevant information and precedents for a case.
  • Investigate the facts surrounding a case by interviewing witnesses, reviewing documents, and collaborating with experts if needed.

3. Drafting Legal Documents:
  • Prepare legal documents, including complaints, pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Present legal arguments in a clear and concise manner.

4. Court Appearances:
  • Represent clients in court during hearings, motions, and trials.
  • Present evidence, examine witnesses, and argue legal points before a judge or jury.

5. Negotiation and Settlement:
  • Engage in settlement negotiations with opposing parties to resolve cases without going to trial when appropriate.
  • Advise clients on the risks and benefits of settling versus going to trial.

6. Case Management:
  • Manage multiple cases simultaneously, keeping track of deadlines, court appearances, and case developments.
  • Work collaboratively with paralegals, legal assistants, and other support staff.

7. Legal Strategy:
  • Develop and implement legal strategies to best serve the interests of the client.
  • Anticipate and respond to opposing counsel's strategies.

8. Appeals:
  • Handle appeals if a case is not resolved at the trial court level.

Qualifications:
1. Education and Licensing:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the bar in GA.

2. Experience:
  • 3+ years of experience practicing law, with a focus on litigation.

3. Analytical and Communication Skills:
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

4. Advocacy Skills:
  • Ability to advocate effectively in court.
  • Confidence in public speaking and presenting legal arguments.

5. Negotiation Skills:
  • Strong negotiation skills for out-of-court settlements.

6. Case Management:
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.

7. Ethical Standards:
  • Adherence to high ethical standards and a commitment to client confidentiality.
