Job Details

Responsibilities:

As an Insurance Defense Attorney, your primary responsibilities will include:

1. Managing a caseload of complex insurance defense matters, from start to finish.
2. Conducting legal research and drafting legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, and briefs.
3. Representing the interests of insurance companies and their policyholders in court, mediations, depositions, and arbitrations.
4. Providing legal advice and guidance to clients regarding potential exposure and legal rights.
5. Negotiating settlements on behalf of clients to resolve disputes in a cost-effective manner.
6. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, and participating in professional development activities.
7. Collaborating with a team of attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure effective and efficient case management.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

1. Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Insurance Defense Attorney, specifically with a focus on general liability.
3. Active member of the State Bar in good standing.
4. Proven experience handling a high-volume caseload and ability to manage deadlines effectively.
5. Exceptional legal research and writing skills.
6. Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to represent clients effectively in a variety of settings.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative legal strategies.
8. High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
9. Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
