Job Details

Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of third party liability defense matters from inception through resolution, including auto, general liability, premises liability, and related lines
  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and dispositive motions
  • Take and defend depositions of plaintiffs, witnesses, and experts
  • Evaluate cases and provide timely, accurate coverage and liability assessments to carrier clients
  • Attend mediations, hearings, pretrial conferences, and trials
  • Communicate regularly with insurance clients and adjusters regarding case status, strategy, and reserves
  • Adhere to client billing guidelines and maintain accurate time records

Qualifications
  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active Florida bar admission
  • 3–6 years of civil litigation experience, preferably with a defense or insurance-focused firm
  • Hands-on experience with discovery, depositions, and motion practice
  • Familiarity with insurance defense protocols and carrier client relationships is a strong plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently while meeting deadlines
