We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Insurance Defense Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex cases involving defense, coverage, personal injury, liability, and construction. The successful candidate will provide crucial support to our attorneys, assisting in the preparation, filing, and management of legal documents and cases. This position offers the chance to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment where your expertise and dedication will be valued and rewarded.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist attorneys in the preparation and filing of legal documents and case management.
2. Conduct legal research, gather relevant case-related information, and analyze findings.
3. Prepare reports to help attorneys prepare for trials.
4. Organize and maintain documents in a paper or electronic filing system.
5. Coordinate and manage the logistics of court proceedings including depositions, hearings, trials, and conferences.
6. Liaise with clients, witnesses, and outside legal counsel to schedule interviews, meetings, and depositions.
7. Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, affidavits, and subpoenas.
8. Assist attorneys in preparing for trial by creating exhibits, providing administrative assistance, and handling client inquiries.
9. Maintain current knowledge of legal practices and changes in laws or regulations.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Paralegal, specifically within the insurance defense sector.
2. Proficient in legal research and writing skills.
3. Extensive knowledge and experience in defense, coverage, personal injury, liability, and construction.
4. Proficient in using legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
5. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
6. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
8. Exceptional attention to detail.
9. Paralegal certification or degree from an accredited program is preferred.
10. Familiarity with the court filing system and procedures.
11. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
