Job Details

Responsibilities
  • Provide legal counsel and strategic guidance on copyright, trademark, and transactional IP licensing matters impacting global business activities
  • Draft, review, and negotiate software and data licensing agreements with enterprise clients, international distributors, and strategic partners
  • Advise technical and business teams on complex copyright and trademark issues across products, services, documentation, educational materials, and marketing assets
  • Conduct OSS/FOSS licensing reviews and manage third-party acknowledgements for software and data projects
  • Support IP due diligence efforts for mergers, acquisitions, and investment transactions
  • Analyze and address how artificial intelligence, antitrust, export control, and M&A laws intersect with IP rights
  • Manage IP-related litigation support and coordinate efforts with external counsel
  • Provide counsel on entertainment, media, and music law considerations as they relate to IP licensing and use
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure compliance with global IP and regulatory requirements

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of relevant legal experience in private practice or as in-house counsel
  • Juris Doctor (JD) or Master of Laws (LLM) from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Licensed and in good standing with the California State Bar (or other state bar) and authorized to practice in all courts
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously
  • Excellent business judgment, attention to detail, and capacity to identify and escalate key legal issues
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to engage with technical teams, executives, partners, and external stakeholders
  • Must be authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship
