Job Details

Serve on IT Service Desk as tier 1 responder, supporting users in both Master and Backup Control Center locations; providing system, electronics, and applications monitoring. The work schedule is a rotating 12-hour shift, including weekends and holidays, combining a series of days on duty with time off before going onto a series of nights.


How you will make an impact
  • Via the approved interfaces, this person monitors the systems and applications that comprise the computing environment, including the telecommunications circuits
  • Serve on centralized IT Service Desk team; monitor, acknowledge, and dispatch service requests logged via the online trouble reporting system
  • Triage computing and networking issues and / or escalate to the appropriate support teams as necessary
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software trouble reports; take documented recovery measures; escalate to appropriate subject matter expert where applicable.
  • Routinely walk through, monitor, and investigate as necessary the systems in computer rooms
  • Configure new desktop and laptops using baseline pc images
What we are looking for
  • Associates degree in computer technology, electronics or equivalent work experience
  • 5 - 7 years of experience in using personal computers to provide technical support in a corporate environment; i.e., computer applications support, IT Service Desk support, server or personal computer / workstation maintenance, maintaining customer and service records, etc
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in monitoring and supporting the systems and subject matter experts responsible for operating the bulk electric system
  • IT Service Desk Ticketing Systems protocol
  • Use and troubleshooting of personal computers as an office tool
  • Strong communication (active listening, concise reporting)
