Our organization is seeking a highly skilled, dedicated, and experienced Journeyman Millwright to join our dynamic team in the Manufacturing industry. As a Journeyman Millwright, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing systems and equipment within our facilities.
Responsibilities
1. Installation and assembly: Install and assemble new machinery and equipment according to technical plans, blueprints, and manufacturer specifications.
2. Maintenance and repair: Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial equipment, including pumps, conveyors, turbines, and gearboxes. Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic problems to make necessary repairs.
3. Precision alignment: Use precision tools like micrometers, dial indicators, and laser alignment devices to set specified clearances and align moving and stationary parts.
4. Troubleshooting: Observe and test the operation of machinery to diagnose and locate the causes of malfunctions or out-of-tolerance performance.
Fabrication and welding: Fabricate new or replacement parts for machinery using machine shop equipment and perform welding repairs as needed.
4. Rigging and hoisting: Safely rig and hoist heavy equipment and machinery, directing crane operators during placement.
5. Documentation: Accurately complete maintenance and repair logs, work orders, and other records to document equipment condition and work performed.
6. Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols, including lockout/tag-out procedures, and follow OSHA and company safety regulations.
7. Collaboration: Work effectively with other team members, including engineers and electricians, to complete projects.
Qualifications
1. Journeyman Millwright license.
2. 5+ years of experience in an industrial or commercial setting.
3. Proven experience with maintenance, electrical troubleshooting, machine maintenance tech, pneumatics, electrical controls, and wiring.
4. Demonstrated ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g. wire strippers, voltmeter etc.) and electrical drawings and blueprints.
5. Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines.
6. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
7. Excellent physical condition and flexibility to work long shifts and overnight.
8. Diploma in relevant vocational training or successfully completed apprenticeship as an electrician.
