We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Labor and Employment Attorney to join our team. The successful candidate will provide legal counsel and guidance on a wide range of labor and employment-related matters. This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape the future of our company while working in a fast-paced and exciting environment. The role requires a deep understanding of federal, state, and local labor laws, as well as a demonstrated ability to manage complex employment litigation matters.
Responsibilities
1. Provide legal advice and counsel to management on a wide range of labor and employment issues, including but not limited to: employee relations, disciplinary actions, terminations, wage and hour compliance, disability and leave management, and employment policies and procedures.
2. Represent the company in employment-related litigation, including managing outside counsel and overseeing the discovery process.
3. Draft, review, and negotiate employment agreements, severance agreements, and other employment-related contracts.
4. Conduct investigations related to alleged wrongful conduct, harassment, discrimination, and retaliation.
5. Develop and deliver training to HR and management on labor and employment law topics.
6. Monitor and analyze changes in labor and employment laws and regulations, and advise management on necessary changes to policies, procedures, and practices.
7. Collaborate with the HR team to ensure company practices and policies are compliant with all applicable laws and regulations.
Qualifications
1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Must be licensed to practice law in the state and in good standing.
3. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in labor and employment law, with a focus on litigation.
4. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local labor and employment laws.
5. Proven experience managing complex employment litigation matters.
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-lawyers.
7. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to find creative solutions to complex legal problems.
8. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
9. High level of professionalism and integrity, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
10. Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
