We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Labor and Employment Attorney to join our legal team. This is a permanent position where you will be responsible for handling a variety of labor and employment matters, including employment defense, labor relations, wrongful termination, discrimination, and defense. You will be expected to provide expert legal advice and support to our clients, ensuring their rights are protected and they are in compliance with all state and federal labor laws.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide legal counsel on a broad range of employment matters such as employment defense, labor relations, wrongful termination, discrimination, and defense.
2. Represent clients in court and before quasi-judicial or administrative agencies of government.
3. Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses.
4. Conduct research and analysis of legal problems.
5. Prepare and draft legal documents such as contracts, deeds, patent applications, and wills.
6. Negotiate settlements of civil disputes.
7. Perform due diligence in legal matters concerning contracts, agreements, and mergers and acquisitions.
8. Advise on the legal implications of the company’s strategic plans.
9. Develop and implement the company’s policies and positions on legal matters.
10. Ensure the legality of the company’s practices and compliance with employment laws.
Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Labor and Employment Attorney.
3. Proven experience in employment defense, labor relations, wrongful termination, discrimination, and defense.
4. Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to resolve complex legal issues.
5. Strong understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws.
6. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues in a clear and understandable manner.
7. Excellent problem-solving abilities with a strong attention to detail.
8. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
9. Licensed to practice law in the state.
10. High ethical standards and professional integrity.
