Our firm is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Labor & Employment Attorney to join our dynamic team on a full time basis. This exciting opportunity will see you play a pivotal role in providing legal advice and guidance to our diverse client base regarding labor and employment law matters. You will be responsible for representing and advising clients in disputes, managing risk, and ensuring compliance with relevant labor laws and regulations. This role is ideal for a seasoned legal professional who is passionate about labor and employment law, possesses excellent negotiation skills, and is committed to delivering exceptional service to our clients.
Responsibilities
1. Provide legal advice to clients on a broad range of labor and employment law matters, including but not limited to employee relations, wage and hour disputes, workplace safety, discrimination claims, and collective bargaining agreements.
2. Represent clients in court proceedings, arbitration, and mediation sessions.
3. Draft, review, and negotiate employment contracts, separation agreements, and other labor-related documents.
4. Develop and implement effective legal strategies to resolve disputes and manage risks.
5. Conduct thorough legal research to stay updated on the latest developments in labor and employment law.
6. Collaborate with other attorneys in the firm to handle complex cases and provide comprehensive legal services to clients.
7. Provide legal training to clients to promote compliance with labor laws and regulations.
8. Maintain high standards of professionalism and ethical conduct in all dealings.
Qualifications
1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Labor & Employment Attorney.
3. Admission to the NY state bar.
4. Proven track record of representing and advising clients on labor and employment law matters.
5. Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to resolve complex disputes.
6. Strong research skills and the ability to stay updated on the latest developments in labor and employment law.
7. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and other legal professionals.
8. High level of professional ethics and integrity.
9. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
10. Proficiency in using legal software and technology.
