We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Labor Relations Lead to join our team in the engineering industry. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping labor relations strategy, fostering a positive labor relations environment, and driving best practices within our organization. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of labor laws and unionized environments, coupled with a strong background in the engineering industry. This role is critical to our mission of maintaining a harmonious work environment that promotes both company growth and employee satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement labor relations strategies that are aligned with the company's business objectives.
2. Provide expert advice and guidance to management on all labor relations matters, including contract negotiations, grievance procedures, and union relationships.
3. Lead the negotiation of collective bargaining agreements, ensuring that the company's interests are well represented.
4. Foster an open, positive, and collaborative relationship with union representatives and employees.
5. Ensure the company's compliance with all labor laws and regulations.
6. Conduct training sessions for management and employees on labor relations issues and best practices.
7. Represent the company in labor disputes and before regulatory bodies.
8. Conduct regular reviews of the company's labor relations policies and procedures, identifying opportunities for improvement.
9. Collaborate with other HR professionals to ensure a unified approach to employee relations.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Law, or a related field. A Master's degree or higher will be an added advantage.
2. Certified Labor Relations Professional (CLRP) or equivalent certification.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in labor relations within a unionized environment, preferably in the engineering or manufacturing industry.
4. Proven experience in negotiating collective bargaining agreements.
5. Deep understanding of labor laws and regulations.
6. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
7. Strong conflict resolution skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy.
8. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
9. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
10. High level of integrity and professionalism.
