We are seeking a seasoned and professional Permanent Land Surveyor to join our dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of local projects and earn top dollar in the process. The successful candidate will be joining a team of dedicated professionals in our well-established Engineering firm, providing top-notch land surveying services to our diverse clientele. Responsibilities
As a Permanent Land Surveyor, you will be expected to:
1. Conduct and manage a wide range of surveying tasks including topographic surveys, boundary surveys, construction staking, and GIS data collection.
2. Utilize advanced surveying technology and equipment such as GPS, robotic total stations, and data collectors.
3. Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions of surveys to describe, certify, and assume liability for work performed.
4. Collaborate with engineers and architects on high precision projects to determine the precise location and measurements of natural and man-made features on the earth's surface, underground, and underwater.
5. Verify the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.
6. Conduct research in surveying and mapping methods, using knowledge of techniques of photogrammetric map compilation and electronic data processing.
7. Direct or conduct surveys to establish legal boundaries for properties, based on legal deeds and titles.
8. Prepare all data, charts, plots, maps, records, and documents related to surveys.
Qualifications
To qualify for this exciting opportunity, you must have:
1. A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Surveying, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5+ years of experience in land surveying, with a strong emphasis on Civil Engineering, GIS, GPS, Topographic Surveys, and Boundary.
3. A Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license or the ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
4. Proficiency in using modern surveying equipment, including GPS and robotic total stations.
5. Strong knowledge and understanding of survey ethics and technical standards.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
7. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
