Role Overview
The Land Survey Crew Chief will lead field survey crews in support of boundary, topographic, construction, and infrastructure projects for municipal, commercial, and federal clients. This role is responsible for collecting accurate field data, supervising survey staff, coordinating with project managers and office staff, and ensuring that all survey work meets technical, safety, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage field survey crews to perform boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, utility, and construction stakeout surveys.
  • Operate and maintain survey instruments, including GPS/GNSS receivers, robotic total stations, digital levels, and data collectors.
  • Review field notes, sketches, and digital data to ensure completeness and accuracy prior to submission to CAD staff.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to meet project requirements and deadlines.
  • Train, mentor, and supervise junior field crew members.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety procedures and OSHA standards while working in diverse site conditions.
  • Coordinate scheduling of survey fieldwork, equipment, and logistics.
