Job Summary:
The Lead Controls / Building Automation Technician oversees the installation, programming, and maintenance of building automation and control systems to optimize building performance and energy efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of building automation systems (BAS)
Program controllers, sensors, and related equipment using industry-standard software
Diagnose and resolve control system issues promptly
Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure system functionality
Train and mentor junior controls technicians
Maintain documentation for control systems and perform regular system audits
Qualifications:
Experience with building automation systems such as Johnson Controls, Honeywell, or Siemens
Strong knowledge of HVAC controls, electrical wiring, and communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, etc.)
Proficiency in programming and troubleshooting BAS controllers
Leadership experience in a controls or automation role
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
