Job Summary:
The Lead Sheetmetal Technician directs the fabrication, installation, and repair of sheet metal components, ensuring precise workmanship and adherence to design specifications in HVAC ductwork and architectural metal projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead sheet metal fabrication and installation teams
Review blueprints and technical drawings to plan work
Fabricate ductwork, flashing, and other metal components using hand and power tools
Ensure all work meets quality standards and safety regulations
Inspect and troubleshoot sheet metal systems, making necessary repairs
Train and guide junior technicians and apprentices
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a sheet metal technician with leadership responsibility
Knowledge of metal properties, fabrication techniques, and HVAC ductwork standards
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
Familiarity with safety procedures in metalworking environments
