Job Details

The Lead Staff Software Engineer will be a part of an agile product team that delivers building highly automated platforms and services that optimizes the developer and operator experience and accelerating the achievement of business objectives. The incumbent will work as a full stack engineer developing high quality and test-driven code. This team partners with the different infrastructure and security teams to deliver solution primarily designed for business application development and data analytics teams. In addition, the team works on rapid prototypes of new concepts, or as a tiger team partnering with app dev and analytics teams to build out new business services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Build user friendly and resilient infrastructure platforms and services with optimized developer experiences to accelerate the delivery of business solutions in a fast evolving and rapidly growing environment
  • Deliver on the strategy execution by building in security, compliance, observability, self-healing, and operational readiness into our Cloud platforms; automate infrastructure/application deployment and management
  • Develop processes and services that eliminate bottlenecks and friction in the software development cycle; design and build tools to enhance developer experience; embed site reliability engineering practices across platforms and the organization
  • Develop platforms and services that enable the production readiness of data and AI/ML models in support of Vantage data scientists and actuaries
  • Build in and integrate security controls across all the phases of the software supply chain process from developer tooling into production operations
  • Optimize existing solutions and platforms to reduce the overall costs of running workloads in the public cloud
  • Rapid prototyping and development of innovative ideas in partnership with other application teams, and data scientists


Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in software development/engineering
  • Hands on experience as a full stack developer with a demonstrated ability to deliver high quality software including front end development, backend/API development, data/database modeling and design, test driven development, automated testing
  • Knowledge any of the following programming languages and frameworks – Java/Spring, .NET Core, Javascript, Python; demonstrated ability to learn new languages and frameworks
  • Experience in multiple infrastructure and application domains – cloud, network, storage, servers, containers/Kubernetes, databases, middleware, DevOps
  • Experience with DevSecOps, and Continuous Integration/Delivery (CI/CD) solutions and tools – git, Jenkins, artifactory/nexus, code analysis, quality gates, etc. • Broad knowledge of software development techniques, processes, methods, and best practices • Strong strategic decision making & long-term planning abilities to manage resources and develop efficient and effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems • Strong understanding of Agile development methods and its application to company technology needs

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience doing UX design, prototyping
  • Prior experience working data analytics, AI, ML
  • Prior experience building developer services and tools or in infrastructure orchestration
