We are currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated Temporary Legal Assistant to join our team for a 6 month contract! The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support to our legal team, managing billing, new client matters, and other legal tasks as needed. This position requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills. The candidate must have at least 2 years of billing/legal experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities

As a Contracted Legal Assistant, you will be expected to:

1. Provide administrative support to our legal team, including Client Billing, New Client Matters, organizing files, and managing correspondence.
2. Proofread and edit legal documents to ensure accuracy and consistency.
3. Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) to prepare, format, and edit documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.
4. Maintain and update our filing system, ensuring that all legal documents are correctly filed and easily accessible.
5. Manage time reporting and input time accurately and efficiently.
6. Assist in the preparation and management of contracts, ensuring all parties understand their obligations.
7. Coordinate and communicate with other departments to ensure smooth operation of all legal matters.
8. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must have:

1. At least 2 years of experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar role.
2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Must know how to do Legal Billing
3. Exceptional proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
4. Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure.
5. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to maintain and manage files effectively.
6. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
7. A strong understanding of legal terminology and principles.
8. The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to anticipate needs and take initiative.
10. A professional demeanor, with a strong commitment to confidentiality and ethics.
