Job Details

We are seeking a full-time Legal Assistant to support our Personal Injury team in Dover, NH. This role involves working closely with attorneys and paralegals on case management from start through trial in both State and Federal Courts.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of personal injury cases from inception through resolution.
  • Preparing general legal correspondence, motions, and objections
  • Assisting with discovery and document management
  • Serving and filing legal papers in various courts, with familiarity with electronic filing systems in both State and Federal Courts
  • Scheduling permanent impairment evaluations
  • Prepare medical evidence for trial
  • Communicate effectively with clients, adjusters, medical providers, and court personnel via email, phone, and in-person meetings.
  • Obtain, review, and summarize medical records and other evidence for use in litigation.
  • Draft, proofread, and file legal documents, pleadings, motions, and correspondence.
  • Ensure compliance with all court rules and deadlines for state and federal courts.
  • Maintain an organized and up-to-date case file system.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as document management, filing papers, and managing email correspondence.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 1 full year of experience as a Legal Assistant
  • Management of personal injury files
  • Experience with contacting claims adjusters
  • Experience with requesting, reviewing, and organizing medical records
  • Proficient in all state and federal court rules and filing requirements.
  • Strong computer skills and maintaining electronic files
