We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Permanent Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team in the areas of Probate, Family Law, and Real Estate. As a Legal Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our attorneys and ensuring the smooth operation of our legal practice. This is a full-time position with the opportunity for growth and advancement within our firm.
Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in preparing and organizing legal documents related to probate, family law, and real estate matters.
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information to support case preparation.
- Draft and review legal correspondence, pleadings, and contracts.
- Coordinate and schedule appointments, hearings, and meetings.
- Maintain and update client files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in legal proceedings.
- Provide administrative support, including answering phone calls, managing emails, and handling general office tasks.
- Assist in the negotiation and settlement of legal disputes.
- Prepare and file legal documents with courts and government agencies.
- Attend court hearings, trials, and depositions to provide assistance to attorneys.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Legal Assistant in the areas of probate, family law, and/or real estate.
- Strong knowledge of legal principles and procedures related to probate, family law, and real estate.
- Proficient in conducting legal research using online databases and other resources.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in using legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to resolve conflicts effectively.
- Familiarity with court filing procedures and deadlines.
