Job Details

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Assistant to support attorneys in our Business Litigation Department.

This role involves assisting with complex commercial litigation matters, including case preparation, document management, and client communication.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate a strong commitment to client service and team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and correspondence.
  • Manage attorney calendars, schedule hearings, depositions, and client meetings.
  • File documents electronically with state and federal courts.
  • Maintain and organize case files, both physical and digital.
  • Assist with trial preparation, including assembling exhibits and trial binders.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel.
  • Conduct basic legal research and summarize findings.
  • Track deadlines and ensure timely filings and responses.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a legal assistant, preferably in business or commercial litigation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
  • Strong knowledge of Florida court rules and procedures.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with e-filing systems in Florida and federal courts.
  • Familiarity with document management systems such as iManage or NetDocuments.
