We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your skills and knowledge in a high-energy environment where your contributions will have a direct impact. You will be a key player in our team, providing comprehensive legal support to our attorneys and partners. This role involves a wide range of activities including document preparation, legal research, case management, and client interaction. Your role will be integral in ensuring smooth operations within our legal department, contributing to our mission of providing superior legal services.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide extensive administrative support to attorneys, including drafting and editing legal documents, contracts, briefs, and reports.
2. Conduct comprehensive legal research and gather relevant information to support case preparation.
3. Manage and organize case files and legal documents, ensuring they are up-to-date and easily accessible.
4. Liaise with clients, court officials, and other legal staff to coordinate appointments, meetings, and hearings.
5. Prepare legal arguments and supporting pleadings for court cases.
6. Assist in the preparation of trial binders and exhibits.
7. Maintain a calendar of deadlines and ensure all legal documents are filed in a timely manner.
8. Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive information.
9. Assist with billing and invoice processing.
10. Perform other legal assistant duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. Experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar role.
2. Prior or current experience working in a law firm for attorneys with litigation practices.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
5. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
6. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
7. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients, attorneys, and court officials.
8. High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling confidential information.
10. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
