This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks and deadlines. You will support the team in various aspects of employment litigation, including but not limited to, document preparation, e-filing, scheduling, calendaring, and civil procedure. This role demands a strong sense of urgency and the ability to work independently on assignments with sound judgment.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide comprehensive legal support to attorneys, including preparing and filing legal documents in state and federal courts.
2. Manage and maintain attorneys' calendars, including scheduling appointments, court dates, and deadlines.
3. Assist in all aspects of employment litigation, including discovery, trial preparation, and case management.
4. Conduct legal research as needed and assist in the preparation of legal memorandums.
5. Facilitate the e-filing process in various courts and ensure all documents are filed in a timely and efficient manner.
6. Maintain electronic files and case management databases, ensuring all information is up-to-date and easily accessible.
7. Respond to inquiries from clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
8. Maintain strict confidentiality of all client information, in accordance with ethical obligations and company policy.
Qualifications:
1. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, Paralegal, or similar role in a law firm or corporate legal department.
3. Extensive knowledge of employment litigation and civil procedure.
4. Proficiency in e-filing in state and federal courts.
5. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
6. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
7. Proficiency in legal research and legal terminology.
8. Knowledge of legal document formatting and preparation.
9. Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases.
10. High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
11. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating sound judgment and initiative.
