Responsibilities:
As a Legal Assistant, your key duties will include:
1. Assisting with the preparation, drafting, and reviewing of legal documents such as wills, contracts, affidavits, and pleadings.
2. Coordinating the scheduling of court appearances, client meetings, and attorney calendars.
3. Maintaining and organizing legal files and case documents, ensuring all crucial information is easily accessible.
4. Conducting legal research and gathering relevant information to assist attorneys in case preparation.
5. Liaising with clients, court personnel, and other legal professionals to coordinate meetings and share information.
6. Providing administrative support to attorneys, including managing correspondence, answering phone calls, and maintaining office supplies.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must meet the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar role within the legal industry.
2. Proficiency in legal document preparation and legal administration.
3. Proven experience in court scheduling and client scheduling.
4. Strong knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and legal document formatting.
5. Proficiency in using legal research software and other computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite.
6. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
8. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
9. A degree in law, paralegal studies, or a related field is preferred.
