Job Details
A nationally recognized litigation defense firm is adding a Legal Billing Specialist to its collaborative Dallas-based accounting team. This is a newly created position driven by growth. The team is known for its supportive, low-ego culture — leadership, including the Billing Manager and CFO, works hands-on alongside the team and pitches in when needed. What You'll Do
Manage the full billing cycle for assigned attorneys/practice groups, including prebill generation, edits, and final invoice distribution
Process and submit invoices through e-billing platforms in accordance with client billing guidelines
Handle collections follow-up on outstanding receivables, including communicating with clients and attorneys to resolve aged balances
Research and resolve billing discrepancies, write-downs, appeals, and short payments
Maintain accurate billing records and client billing arrangements in Aderant
Collaborate with attorneys, legal assistants, and accounting colleagues to keep billing timely and accurate
Assist with month-end and ad hoc reporting as needed
What You'll Bring
3–7 years of legal billing experience, preferably in a law firm environment
Collections experience
Proficiency with Aderant billing software (required)
Experience with e-billing platforms and client billing guideline compliance
Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
Excellent communication skills and a team-first attitude
