Our prestigious law firm is seeking a dynamic and experienced Legal Secretary with a focus on Insurance Defense. This is a permanent position, offering the opportunity to work with a dedicated team of professionals in our Legal department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal research, legal writing, document review, legal document preparation, and exceptional communication skills. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive secretarial support to a team of attorneys specializing in insurance defense.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy development.
  • Draft, revise, and finalize legal documents, including briefs, pleadings, appeals, and contracts.
  • Review and analyze legal documents for accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate and manage the attorneys' schedules, including scheduling appointments, court dates, and meetings.
  • Serve as a liaison between the attorneys and clients, maintaining open lines of communication and ensuring all parties are kept up-to-date on case developments.
  • Maintain an organized and up-to-date filing system for all case documents.
  • Assist in preparing case presentations for trials, hearings, and other legal proceedings.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Legal Secretary, specifically in insurance defense, is required.
  • Proficiency in legal research and legal writing is a must.
  • Experience in document review and legal document preparation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in the use of legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Paralegal certification or equivalent legal qualification is preferred but not required.
