Our prestigious law firm is seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Paralegal to join our Personal Injury Insurance Defense team. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional who thrives in a vibrant, fast-paced environment, and who is committed to providing exceptional support to our attorneys in defending our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in personal injury insurance defense, with a particular emphasis on products liability and professional liability. This role requires a deep understanding of civil litigation, legal research, and mediation, with a proven track record in litigation defense.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist attorneys in all aspects of personal injury insurance defense litigation from inception through trial.
2. Conduct comprehensive legal research and fact-checking to support case preparation and strategy development.
3. Manage products liability and professional liability cases, including drafting pleadings, discovery requests and responses, and other legal documents.
4. Coordinate and manage the document review and production process, ensuring all relevant documents are organized, reviewed, and produced in a timely manner.
5. Organize and maintain case files, ensuring they are updated and readily accessible for attorneys.
6. Participate in mediation sessions, providing insightful input and assisting in negotiation strategies.
7. Collaborate with attorneys to prepare for depositions, hearings, trials, and client meetings.
8. Monitor case deadlines and ensure all court and filing deadlines are met.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of paralegal experience in personal injury insurance defense, with a strong emphasis on products liability and professional liability.
2. Paralegal certification from an ABA-approved institution, or equivalent.
3. Proficient in civil litigation, legal research, and mediation.
4. Demonstrated experience in litigation defense.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts.
6. Strong organizational skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet tight deadlines.
7. Proficient in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
8. Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
9. Ability to work independently, as well as part of a dynamic, collaborative team.
10. Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to overcoming challenges and achieving resolution.
11. High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
