Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of complex and high exposure claims from start to finish.
  • Conduct thorough investigations on assigned claims, including an assessment of coverage, liability, and damages, to determine the extent of the company's exposure.
  • Negotiate and settle claims in accordance with company practices and procedures.
  • Attend mediations and trials as a representative of the company, presenting evidence and arguing cases effectively.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date claim files and documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with policyholders, claimants, witnesses, attorneys, and other relevant parties throughout the claim process.
  • Work closely with legal counsel and other team members on litigated claims.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, laws, and regulations related to claims handling and liability.
  • Provide excellent customer service, addressing customer inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in handling liability claims, preferably in the Waste industry.
  • Proven experience in claims settlement, claims mediations, litigated claims, and investigations.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and claims management software.
  • Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political process.
