Job Details
We are seeking a civil litigation defense attorney with at least 3 years of experience to join our growing litigation team. In this role, we handle a steady pipeline of general liability and insurance-related matters across a range of industries.
We provide meaningful responsibility early, including direct client interaction and hands-on case management, while maintaining a collaborative and supportive team structure. This role offers a hybrid schedule, allowing for both in-office collaboration and remote flexibility.
Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of civil litigation matters from inception through resolution
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal memoranda
Take and defend depositions
Appear in court for hearings, conferences, and other proceedings
Prepare matters for mediation, arbitration, and trial
Communicate directly with clients, carriers, opposing counsel, and the courts
Develop case strategy and provide analysis on liability, damages, and risk exposure
Partner with other attorneys and staff to drive efficient case outcomes
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in civil litigation defense
Experience handling general liability, insurance defense, or similar litigation matters
Strong background in motion practice, discovery, and depositions
Ability to independently manage a caseload while collaborating with a broader team
Strong written and oral advocacy skills
Experience with court appearances and case strategy development
Requirements
Active bar admission in Massachusetts or Rhode Island or ability to waive in
Additional bar admissions are a strong plus
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable working within a hybrid schedule structure
