We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Litigation Associate Attorney to join our robust legal team. This role is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to handle a diverse caseload, including civil litigation, personal injury, dispute resolution, and more. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with a passion for the law, a knack for legal research and writing, and a proven track record in litigation.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Litigation Associate Attorney, your responsibilities will include:
1. Representing clients in civil litigation.
2. Conducting legal research and analysis of law sources such as statutes, legal articles, legal decisions, and legal codes to prepare legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, etc., for trial, presentation before a court, or other legal proceedings.
3. Interpreting laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses.
4. Negotiating settlements of civil disputes in the best interest of the client.
5. Managing and overseeing all phases of discovery, including taking and defending depositions, drafting and arguing discovery motions, reviewing and analyzing documentary evidence, and preparing clients and witnesses for depositions.
6. Providing expert legal support, advice, and counsel to clients on a variety of legal matters, particularly in the area of personal injury.
7. Conducting and managing litigation cases.
8. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and providing excellent customer service.
9. Working collaboratively with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure the smooth running of the legal process.
Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
2. A minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a litigation associate.
3. Admitted to practice law and in good standing with the North Carolina (NC) and South Carolina (SC) Bars.
4. Proven experience in civil litigation, personal injury cases, dispute resolution, and legal research and writing.
5. Exceptional analytical skills with a strong ability to think strategically and analytically about legal issues.
6. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
7. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
8. High ethical standards and professionalism in all business dealings.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. Proficiency in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
