Job Details
Responsibilities:
As a Litigation Associate, you will be responsible for:
1. Managing all phases of the litigation process from investigation, pleadings, and discovery to pre-trial, trial, settlement, and appeal.
2. Drafting legal documents including pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, briefs, reports, and correspondence.
3. Conducting legal research and analysis to develop case strategies and legal theories.
4. Representing clients in court proceedings, mediations, and arbitrations.
5. Advising clients on their legal rights and obligations.
6. Negotiating settlements on behalf of clients.
7. Collaborating with a team of attorneys and paralegals to ensure the efficient and effective handling of cases.
8. Maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
9. Keeping up-to-date with the latest legal developments and changes in laws that may affect clients or the practice of law.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you must have:
1. A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the CA Bar.
3. A minimum of 5 years of litigation experience, preferably in a law firm environment.
4. Demonstrated experience in drafting motions and briefs.
5. Strong legal research and analytical skills.
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
7. Ability to manage multiple cases and projects simultaneously.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
10. Proficiency in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
