We are seeking a dynamic, highly skilled, and passionate Permanent Litigation Associate to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all phases of litigation from inception to resolution, including complex legal research, drafting pleadings, discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, and appellate work. Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Manage all aspects of civil litigation including drafting pleadings, conducting depositions, discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, and appellate work.
2. Provide legal advice and guidance on a wide range of civil litigation matters.
3. Collaborate with a team of attorneys and support staff to develop a strategic approach to each case.
4. Represent clients in court or before government agencies, presenting evidence to defend clients or prosecute defendants in civil litigation.
5. Evaluate findings and develop strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases.
6. Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses.
7. Prepare and draft legal documents, such as wills, deeds, patent applications, mortgages, leases, and contracts.
8. Conduct pre-trial preparations, handle settlements and assist in trial proceedings.
9. Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law.
10. Maintain professional competency through continuing education and professional growth.
Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admitted to practice in the state and in good standing with the state bar.
3. Minimum of 5 years of civil litigation experience.
4. Exceptional analytical skills and a strong understanding of civil litigation process and procedures.
5. Proven track record of managing a large caseload, producing quality work in a fast-paced environment, and meeting deadlines.
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
7. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to resolve conflicts.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
10. High ethical standards and professionalism in dealing with clients, colleagues, and the court.
