Our prestigious law firm is actively seeking a dynamic, experienced, and highly skilled Permanent Litigation Attorney specializing in Defense Claims. This is a unique opportunity to join our team of dedicated professionals who are committed to providing exceptional legal services. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in civil litigation, legal writing, trial practice, appeals, personal injury, arbitration, mediation, legal research, and corporate law.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Litigation Attorney - Defense Claims, your primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
1. Representing clients in court and before government agencies, presenting evidence to defend clients or prosecute defendants in civil litigation.
2. Interpreting laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses, providing sound legal advice based on thorough research and analysis.
3. Conducting legal research and gathering evidence for defense strategies, ensuring all relevant facts are considered in case preparation.
4. Drafting and reviewing legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests, and responses.
5. Negotiating settlements on behalf of clients in mediation and arbitration proceedings.
6. Participating in trial practice, including the preparation of opening and closing arguments, examination and cross-examination of witnesses, and presentation of evidence.
7. Handling appeals, including drafting appellate briefs and presenting oral arguments before appellate courts.
8. Providing legal counsel on issues arising from actual or anticipated lawsuits.
9. Staying updated on current legislation, court decisions, and industry trends to effectively represent clients and the firm.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Litigation Attorney - Defense Claims position must possess the following qualifications:
1. Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in civil litigation, legal writing, trial practice, appeals, personal injury, arbitration, mediation, legal research, and corporate law.
3. Admitted to practice law in the state and in good standing with the state bar.
4. Proven track record of successfully litigating cases and managing a caseload.
5. Exceptional legal research and writing skills.
6. Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to resolve disputes and facilitate win-win outcomes.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and creatively.
8. High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical standards.
9. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to clients and colleagues.
10. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
11. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
12. Proficiency in using legal research software and other relevant computer applications.
