We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Permanent Litigation Attorney to join our dynamic legal team in the oil and gas industry. The ideal candidate must have at least 5 years of oil and gas experience, with a proven track record of drafting title opinions, conducting closings, and performing title reviews. As a Permanent Litigation Attorney, you will be responsible for handling complex litigation matters, including disputes related to oil and gas leases, contracts, and environmental regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting legal research and analysis to support litigation strategy and case development
- Drafting pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
- Representing clients in court proceedings, including hearings, depositions, and trials
- Negotiating settlements and resolving disputes through alternative dispute resolution methods
- Advising clients on legal issues related to the oil and gas industry, including regulatory compliance and risk management
- Managing and coordinating with outside counsel, as necessary
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders, including business leaders and other legal team members, to develop and implement legal strategies
Qualifications:
- J.D. degree from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in Louisiana
- Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on oil and gas litigation
- Strong knowledge of oil and gas regulations and industry practices
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Ability to travel as necessary to attend court hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings
