Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Litigation Attorney, you will:
1. Represent clients in court or before government agencies, presenting evidence to defend or prosecute lawsuits.
2. Manage all phases of the litigation process to include pleadings, discovery, pre-trial, trial, settlement and appeal.
3. Conduct legal research and gather evidence, ensuring that the law is followed and respected in every case.
4. Draft and prepare a variety of legal documents such as pleadings, briefs, motions, appeals, contracts, and legal memoranda.
5. Advise clients on their legal rights and obligations, helping to navigate the complexities of the law.
6. Negotiate settlements to resolve disputes favorably and expediently.
7. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, and the democratic political process.
8. Develop relationships with clients to ensure a high level of client satisfaction.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the Massachusetts Bar.
3. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a practicing attorney, with significant experience in civil litigation, employment litigation, construction litigation, business litigation, and tort litigation.
4. Exceptional legal research and writing skills.
5. A proven track record of managing multiple cases and the ability to perform well under pressure.
6. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
7. Strong ethical and professional standards.
8. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
