Job Details

  • Represent clients in civil litigation matters, including administrative hearings, state and federal court actions, and mediation/arbitration
  • Handle cases involving employment law, construction defects, student rights and discipline, public contracting, personal injury, and constitutional claims
  • Draft and argue motions, including motions for summary judgment and other dispositive motions
  • Take and defend depositions; prepare clients and witnesses for testimony
  • Provide strategic legal guidance and risk management counsel directly to clients
  • Appear before administrative agencies such as the EEOC, OCR, Civil Rights Department, Labor Commissioner, and others
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional legal team focused solely on education law

Looking For:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active license to practice in California
  • Minimum of 3 years of civil litigation experience, with full case management responsibilities
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: education law, labor and employment litigation, insurance defense, civil rights, municipal law, or public entity defense
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to provide practical, client-centered legal advice to public sector entities
