Job Details
The Legal Assistant will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of our legal team, assisting with case preparation, document management, research, and client communication. This position is ideal for someone with a strong interest in insurance law, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in the preparation of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence.
- Manage case files and document databases, ensuring all materials are accurately filed and easily accessible.
- Conduct legal research under attorney supervision to gather case-relevant information and resources.
- Schedule and coordinate depositions, hearings, meetings, and other case-related appointments.
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, court personnel, and other parties involved in cases.
- Prepare and send out legal packages to clients and opposing counsel.
- Assist in trial preparation tasks such as organizing exhibits, documents, and evidence.
- Maintain confidentiality of all client information and case details.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or higher in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or a related field. (Bachelor's degree preferred)
- Previous experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal, ideally within an insurance defense or related legal setting.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and databases.
- Strong computer skills, including MS Office Suite and legal management software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
