Responsibilities:
As a Litigation Legal Assistant, you will be responsible for:
1. Providing comprehensive administrative support to our team of attorneys, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and coordinating travel arrangements.
2. Preparing, proofreading, and filing a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
3. Collaborating with local government counsel on various legal matters.
4. Organizing and maintaining case files, ensuring all relevant information is easily accessible and up-to-date.
5. Conducting legal research and assisting with case preparation.
6. Facilitating communication between attorneys, clients, court personnel, and other parties.
7. Ensuring all court deadlines are met in a timely manner.
8. Adhering to all legal standards and regulations, as well as our firm's policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Litigation Legal Assistant position will possess:
1. A minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, Paralegal, or similar role within a law firm or legal department.
2. Proven expertise in preparing and filing legal documents, with a strong understanding of court rules and procedures.
3. Experience working with government counsel.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
5. Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff, clients, and court personnel.
7. A high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
8. A proactive approach, with the ability to anticipate the needs of attorneys and clients.
9. A degree in law, paralegal studies, or a related field is preferred.
